The Winkelhausen base (Robert Barracks), with an area of 31.5 hectares (78 acres) are located in the harbor district. The base is conveniently located with fast access to traffic connections as well as a railway connection in the center of the Osnabrueck Hafen industrial park.
At the northern edge of the city, directly on the motorway approach road to Federal Motorway 1 at the Osnabrueck-Nord interchange, there is a 7.2 hectare (17.78 acres) area previously used as a sports facility.
